Dagobahn Eagle Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 It's a wonderful Internet! Pretty good flash movie. Although the points it makes are rubbish (ie., there are ways to pay your bills other than the WWW:p), it's got some nice humour troughout. Just as a side note, CERN invented the Internet, not the US Army.
matt-- Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Just a correction to your side note... The predecessor of the internet, arpanet, was developed by DARPA, the defense advanced research projects agency and part of the Department of Defense. Then TCP/IP was implemented between universities by the National Science Foundation to create NSFnet. It was later opened to all sorts of public and private interests and the internet was born. What you're meaning to say is that the World Wide Web was invented by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN.
TiE23 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 OMG, it would be scary, everything would be gone... *shudders* Just imagine. :0
