I AM BROKEN, SO VERY VERY BROKEN - TSL Wierd Bug

Bear in mind that I already got around this problem, and got rid of the malfunctioning games, but I just wanted to see if I could figure out why it happened. There are mostly two savegames that I had the problem, and here is the first one:

Instance 1

I was playing as a DS male, fighting in stoffe ~mkb~'s Combat Simulation Arena. I had just gotten on KSE to give myself a force power (something I had done other times on that game). I had saved my game in the middle of a Guantlet battle with dark Jedi, and was half-way through. But when I reloaded, there was no dark Jedi, the arena was empty. I also had no party members.

When I went in to the party selection screen, in the area where it says the name and class, it said "I AM BROKEN, SO VERY VERY BROKEN." I tried to warp back to Malachor using the CS armband, but the game crashed.

Instance 2

My second was an old LS female game, that I had saved right before the fight with Traya in the Trayus Core. I had saved it there and hadn't played it for a while. I used KSE to give me the CS armband so I could go to the arena with this character. Well, when I loaded, the screen in the loading menu was of Malachor, but the module said "Ravager."

Even though I was supposed to be on Malachor, it took my character to the Ravager bridge, but without my party members. When I went to the party selection screen, it gave me that same wierd message:

"I AM BROKEN, SO VERY VERY BROKEN."

I selected the CS armband to go to the arena, it got half-way through loading, and bam. The game crashed, and that game wouldn't work.

Last Wierd Part

Ok now, I'm almost done with the story. Here is the last part: I decided to delete those two games. I managed to, but after I had deleted both of them, this savegame appeared. The title of it was "Old Save Game." The picture was just a white square, with no information.

I tried to delete it along with the others. Now evertime I tried to delete it, the "time played" number would change. Each time I said "yes, delete it", the clock would go forward a second. (It kinda reminded me of tribbles, or probably gizka)

I deleted it several times, until all of a sudden the whole screen changed to the screen of the character I had just started. Just for a split second, though, for the game (again) crashed.

Now, the wierd thing is, when I got back on TSL, "Old Save Game" had finally vanished, along with the other games. I have never had that problem since, nor with the party selection screen "I AM BROKEN..." message. Does anyone know what was going on with the game? I could swear that I have heard something a long time ago about the "I AM BROKEN..." message.

I've seen that before. It basically means the partytable.res or the savegame.sav itself got corrupted or had conflicting information. The game itself has working data files and saving during combat and editing with KSE could likely cause that behavior repeatably. As for the 2nd instance, I don't know. But yeah, that happens sometimes. I'm sorry for the frustration it may have caused. I hope the benefits from KSE outweigh the frustrations. I'm glad you had older savegames to fall back on.

The Old Savegame thing I haven't seen. During gameplay, the game makes a couple folders called "gameinprogress", "currentgame", and "futuregame" in the root folder (at least in K1...). Normally they are deleted after the game exits, but in case of a crash, they may persist and confound your gameplay later on.

^Yes, thankfully, I didn't want to try and fight Traya with my DS character, and I had really already beaten the game with my LS female (Which, I already have a earlier savegame with her character that isn't corrupted).

Thanks for the reply- I guess I'll just have to try and avoid that.
