Chapter I: Judgment of the Exile

The conflicted Jedi closed her eyes, and then opened them slowly.

"Yes," she began. "I have already told you of the deep sorrow that I feel

concerning what I did at Malachor V. As Master Vash said, I slaughtered

thousands upon thousands, and there is a wound in my soul that I can't

heal. When I turned to the Dark Side, I not only betrayed the Jedi Council

and the Jedi Code, but also my own nature. I was not born a cold-blooded

killer, and neither will I die one. Whatever happens to me after this, I vow

not to embrace the ways of the Sith again. They have almost destroyed me.

"Some, such as you, Master Atris, would argue I'm beyond redemption. Perhaps

this is so, and I've refused to acknowledge this. However, you believed that

Revan was able to be saved, even though he was Dark Lord of the Sith at

the time you took him into custody. I'd like to walk a path of atonement

from now on, as Revan did, and I give my thanks to Vrook for suggesting it.

"Masters, you seem to agree that some form of banishment for me is

necessary. I will never return to seek revenge upon you, but only to

see if I may serve the galaxy again. Trust is not something that's

easily restored once it's broken, and maybe it's for the best if we

spent a long time apart. Once again, I'm sorry, for everything, and

may you all find it in your hearts to forgive me...someday."

Master Vash nodded sternly, and then pronounced sentence. "You are exiled."

"One more thing," mentioned Master Kavar. "Your lightsaber. Surrender it to us."

Tysyacha stepped forward, and in a bold gesture that the Masters misread

as defiance, she thrust her gleaming silver saberstaff into the center stone

of the Jedi Council chamber. Without another word, she bowed, turned, and left.
