zulu9812
Whenever I start TSL, I get past the two loading screens (for the developer and publisher) but when I get to the art screen immediately before the main menu, the screen freezes - I notice that it drops in brightness as well. I know that there's stuff going on underneath because when I move my mouse I can hear the soundeffect of the cursor passing over the buttons. Additionally, when I press the Windoes key to take me back the desktop, I can see the screen I should see - but clicking on the TSL tab again just shows a black screen. I don't think it's a memory problem (I have 2GB) and I've tried all the screen resolutions. My graphics driver is nVidia Forceware 81.98. The TSL laucher configure-er said that my machine passed all requirements to play. I should point out that Task Manager is showing kotot2.exe as using 50% CPU - on a 3800+ dualcore Athlon 64-bit. Can anyone help?
zulu9812
bumpitty-bumpitty-bump I don't have the dxdiag report handy at the moment, but I do know that it's DirectX 9.0c and all the tabs reported no problems.
stingerhs
no bumping. anyways, it sounds like the game is getting stuck in a loop while its trying to load (hence the 50% load on a duel-core). make sure you have the latest patch, and try re-installing. i'm not an Nvidia expert, so i can't make too many recommendations on that note. however, i do know a couple of users that can...... zulu9812
Thanks for the reply. I was actually wrong about the 50% CPU usage. That only occured once. On every subsequent occasion, CPU usage has climbed to 99% (on dual-core system). I have heard from other sources that the patch itself might be causing the problem, so I'm going to uninstall, reinstall, not patch and see what happens. Gizmo140273
I have exactly the same problem with the game (and nearly the same PC-System). Are there any news? Is the game running?
