Would it be possible to rig a character to use some robot parts? I've always wanted to be able to play as a cyborg. I'd also like to be able to lock equipment in place for say the arms and body and have them only be removable through dialogue. Possible?

 

The locked itemslots is defined in appearance.2da in the equislotslocked coloumn, per definition af a particular slot is set as locked then the only way to equip and unequip would be through scripts, thus making it possible to attach a script to a dialogue. In appearance2.da the equislotslocked is a multiplum of the locked slots... Stoffe -mkb, or Tk102 has covered this in atutorial...but I cant seem to find it right now...

 

 

With regards to your first question what exactly would the point be?....Droid equipable items are not visible (even on droids), even should you be able to equip them...

Yes sadly they aren't visible...

The point is I wanted to make a cyborg. I had an idea to make its body an armor and lock off one of his arms as cybernetics. I could give him special stats and abilities that would be balanced by the fact that he couldn't wear armor. In place of the implant slot would be the droid mental bits and the arm (and body) could be upgraded and could use droid weapons.
