Galilee
Yesterday everything was fine. I played through whole the dark side story without any problems. Now I've started over with a light side campaign and all of the sudden my graphics are abnormally 'edgy' with 1024 resolution. I played all the time with this resolution and with my Geforce 6600GT on 8xS I never had problems with it. (I'm using a game profile via forceware yes). I have an intel pentium 2.8 ghz and 1024 mb ram if it matters. So, what's up with this? With 1280x1024 the problem seems te be gone. But I don't like to play with those damn small menu's and UI. stingerhs
what exactly do you mean by "edgy"?? is it, for example, the difference in using 8x AA vs. no AA?? or do you mean something else??
Galilee
Something like that jeah. It just seems like I've put the AA at 0 or even -20 in this case.. With 1280x1024 everything looks great. Under that it all appears way too edgy. Even the text is blurred of 'edgyness'.
stingerhs
well, i'm not familier with the Forceware drivers since i don't use an Nvidia card right now. however, i do think it would be wise to check your Direct3d and OpenGL settings to make sure that the AA settings within the drivers are set for 'Application Preference' or something similar. if this option is available within the gaming profiles that you're referring to, then you should change it there. the reason i recommend it that way is due to possible conflicts between the drivers trying to force AA while Kotor is trying to do something else with the AA. now that i'm thinking about it, are you using an LCD monitor or a CRT monitor?? Galilee
Haha. I use an LCD monitor yes, but you were right. Not forcing it helped! With using the ingame settings the problem is solved. But I find it strange that it would conflict now all of the sudden while it didn't for quite a while. It does it with other games too now I see while it first didn't. It worked great. Got an idea as to why?
stingerhs
well, i really can't tell you much other than what i said before. trying to force graphics settings through the drivers will sometimes cause issues with whatever 3d application your running (whether it be a game or otherwise). the only explanation i can give is because the drivers will be trying to do one thing while the application is trying to do another. and i was asking about your monitor because a some LCD monitors have problems displaying graphics outside of its native resolution. the result with games is that things can look like you aren't using any AA. obviously, that's not the culprit here, so don't worry about it. glad to have helped.
