How Americans view the world

The more I read in this thread, the more my opinion that many of you Americans are barbaric goofs is strengthened.

I know how vast the US are. I know they're smaller than Canada, however. (3.615.104 to 3.851.790 sq miles) biggrin.gif

The European Union is not about Lebensraum or die Endlösung, but economic and political UNITY. Which makes sense when your continent has numerous times been torn and shattered apart by wars.

I wonder how many of you Americans have native American blood in their veins. How can you say "what WE have accomplished" whilst you are nothing but a mixture of DNA from people that had to flee from their country because there were too few potatoes or too little religious tolerance

Edit: And I would almost forget the import of slaves.

Why does everyone think that to be a true American, you must have American Indian blood? That makes absolutely no sense. They may have been here first, but they had no central government of any kind. There was no United States of America until 1776. They were just on the land that would once become the USA. Plus, it's not like they didn't come over here from somewhere else too...

Traditionally, sanity moves from East to West. The Americas were the refuge of wierdness from Europe. California is the refuge of wierdness from the rest of North America. L.A. is the refuge of wierdness from the rest of California.

If you're too wierd for L.A., chances are you're too wierd for this planet.

And finally:

Am I to be shipped off to the Americas like some common criminal?!?

Personally, as a Canadian, I think R9's map is hilarious. If you can't take a joke, you might as well get off the planet! Just one thing: Canada isn't technologically backward. Much of the technology used by NASA for the space program, etc came from Canadian scientists. We just happen to like back bacon and beer eh?? biggrin.gif

People, I posted that map because I meant for everyone to take as a joke. I did not intend it for everyone to bash America. I wanted to make fun of all the damn stereotypes there were floating around.

If you people cannot take it as a joke, then it was my error in posting it in the first place. Sometimes, it just goes to show who knows how to take a joke and who does not. Good day then.
