Grey Raven Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Am I just slow, or does this mean that there's a source release of the actual engine code floating around out there somewhere? Not just the DLL but the actual engine? If not, crap. If so, well then, strike me up a gum tree! Link
Tinny Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Quake 3 source engine was released a while back . Made me happy a little bit, its hard finding a use for it though as I never bought the Quake 3 Team Arena game.
Grey Raven Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 Is it the actual game engine? I mean, it's not just the stuff we've using to make DLLs. The actual engine? Where?
Tinny Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Yep yep, actual engine. http://www.idsoftware.com/business/techdownloads/ If you don't belelieve it: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/08/13/0350222
ensiform Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 Visit the http://www.quakesrc.org/forums Quake 3 Engine section, theres a lot of stuff there. You do realize that you must release your source if you intend to use anything from it or if make a game of some sort.
Tinny Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 No way bro, that rocks hard and thanks for the heads up bro. Haha, now my dreams of making putting havok physics in an old game and red faction style geo modding are .00000001 % closer.
