dimidimidimi
Pan Metron Ariston announces The Exchange Student, a new episodic adventure game for the casual games market. 5th of May 2006 Pan Metron Ariston proudly presents The Exchange Student. The Exchange Student is an interactive sitcom and it will be sold online in the form of episodes, for the PC and Macintosh. The game is developed in Flash. Pan Metron Ariston creates the game with the casual gamer in mind. It will feature cartoon graphics, created by Will Eaken (who has worked on some of the most popular adventure games in the history of the genre like The Dig and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) and Dave Rigley (creator of the online comic 24 and a half: http://www.24andahalf.com) The story of The Exchange Student follows Emilio Carboni, a 22 y.o. Italian student who has never had a girlfriend in his entire life. His friend Vicenzo just came back from an exchange program in Sweden. Vicenzo was really satisfied with the program since he met a lot of very attractive ladies during his stay in Sweden. Emilio decides to follow his friend's path. He travels to Sweden to spend a semester there, studying in a city of Sweden called Västerås. Fate however is not that kind with our 'hero'. The game follows the events taking place from the moment that Emilio leaves his house in Italy until he completes his exchange program and returns home. The Exchange Student blends classic adventure gameplay into the casual game format, making the pace of progress faster and simpler so that the gamer can practically be entertained even if he/she only has a little time to devote into gaming. Featuring a simple point and click interface TES requires a minimal learning curve making the game appropriate for the casual games audience. At the same time however, the developers have seen to it so that the level of interactivity remains high throughout the game and that The Exchange Student is not just a click-through experience. The first episode is called “First Day in Sweden” and it is going to be released this May. You can find more information about The Exchange Student and the first artwork in the official webpage: http://www.theexchangestudent.com About Pan Metron Ariston: Pan Metron Ariston is a group of developers and artists around the world who believe that gaming is more than just shooting everything that moves. Their intention is to develop and release games that can be appealing to all audiences, even beyond the hardcore gaming demographics.
Gabez
Looks interesting. I think the soap opero style plot should work well with episodic gameplay.
