Kalance Posted May 8, 2006 Share Posted May 8, 2006 Every time I play the campaign map the conflict begins against the Imperial A.I, the Empire just kind of sits there and doesn't expand. For example, during my last campaign on Medium, I combined my fleets and used Han Solo to the planets around Yavin, with Bondan being one of them. The Empire meanwhile instantly took Byss, then a while later attacked Fresia and took it from the pirates. I gathered my fleet and counterattacked, taking Fresia back. I sent the droids to scout out Courascant since I could reach it now, and imagine my surprise when I saw that Palpatine and Tarkin were sitting on it guarded by two acclamators and two tartans. I almost decided to attack then, but instead I hit Byss which was held by Boba Fett and some At-Sts. Once I took that, I scouted the planets around Coruscant and found out all the Imps had left were the two acclamators and the tartans and that they were surrounded be my and the pirates. I took out their fleet with my super uber fleet of 5 nebulon Bs and the Falcon, and soon later, I conquered Coruscant and Palpatine was dead, only about twelve days into the campaign. I really enjoy the map because it isn't just 43 planets with 41 of them empty and neutral allowing the A.I to expand ultra fast, but this isn't the first time I was able to win the game and wipe the Empire out without even putting any effort into it. I think the A.I sits there because it's surrounded by pirates and soon exhausts its manpower and money trying to attack them, but I'm wondering if anybody is encountering what I'm encountering on the map. Kalance Posted May 9, 2006 Author Share Posted May 9, 2006 I tried to fix that by making the Imps start on Hoth while the Rebs started on Yavin. The placement worked but the empire still wouldn't expand even when Bespin was defended by one pirate corvette and an asteroid base, in spite of the fact that I gave them four acclamators and four stormtrooper squads to start off. The funny thing is, when I modded the map so that Bespin was neutral, the Empire took it only a few seconds in the game, and then stopped there, not even trying to hit Sullust or Dagobah. They do build some ships, since by the time I got to the Hoth end of the map they had 9 tartans, but from my experience they don't use them on the pirates at all unless the player is nearby.
