Multiplayer not working last night

I've never had any trouble with the game before. I was playing last night and decided to log in under my secondary user name to check for buddy messages. So, I went back and tried to log in, but when I click on the connect button, it brings up the tie cockpit screen with a "Please Wait" message box. After about 20 or 30 seconds, it just takes me back to the multiplayer menu screen. I have tried changing my user ID back to the one that was working earlier, but I couldn't get EaW to let me into the multiplayer lobby for the rest of the evening. Was this a temporary glitch, like a server problem, or did something happen to my game? My computer is properly configured, and I've played EaW online since the initial release.
