Bao_Bron11
I played KOTOR 1 and 2 a year or two ago. But I played 2 before 1 and I don't really remember the exact storylines and stuff. Will someone be willing to give me the whole basic KOTOR storyline and where we are now hoping for a KOTOR 3?
Mace MacLeod
Huh. KotOR--After defeating the nefarious Mandalorians who threatened the Republic, The jedi Revan and his/her apprentice Malak discovered and were presumably corrupted by the Star Forge, a huge, ancient space station/ship factory created by the Rakata people thousands of years previously. Their technology revolved around combining their inherent force powers with hyperdrive and conventional ship tech, and they lorded over a vast empire that included Kashyyyk, Manaan, Tattooine, Dantooine and Korriban. On these worlds they built Star Maps, which showed their glorious empire and the location of the Star Forge for future posterity. Revan and Malak pumped out ships from the Star Forge and embarked on a war of conquest of their own, and in a pivotal moment, Revan was betrayed by Malak, who opened fire on his/her ship when he/she was engaged in a duel with the jedi Bastila. Revan was very nearly killed, only surviving because Bastila...uh...did something jedi-ish and kept Revan alive, then transporting him/her to the jedi council. Malak assumed command of the Sith forces and proceeded to kick much butt and glower malevolantly. Revan's mind had been destroyed although he/she survived Malak's betrayal, winding up at the beginning of KotOR on the Republic Cruiser Endar Spire as it gets the snot slapped out of it by a Sith fleet. Bastila, you see, has the jedi ability called Battle Meditation which Malak covets with great nostril-flaring intensity. The memory-challenged Revan meets the terminally whiny Carth Onasi as they pile into the last remaining escape pod and scoot over to Taris, over which the Endar Spire then explodes. Carth and Revan then explore the many sublevels of Taris, eventually meeting several more party members and rescuing Bastila (though she disputed this for the remainder of the game) from a swoop gang leader. Bastila tells Revan that he/she is force-sensitive and the lot steal the Ebon Hawk from Davik Kang (the local crime boss) and head for the safety of Dantooine as Malak runs out of patience and orders Taris destroyed so Bastila can't escape back to the jedi. On Dantooine, the jedi masters agree to train the new recruit (Revan) as a jedi (again) and after he/she completes the initial training, is sent to investigate an ancient ruin, therein discovering the first of the Star Maps. Revan and company are then dispatched to the rest of the KotOR planets to find the other Star Maps and the mysterious Star Forge in hopes of finding the source of the resurgent Sith fleet which plagues the galaxy. Along the way, the empty berths in the party are filled with an assortment of droids, jedi, and aliens who dispense witty banter, backstory and nuggets of dubious wisdom at regular intervals. After mowing down hordes of Sith and local fauna on three planets and discovering the third Star Map (aside from Dantooine), the Ebon Hawk is captured by the Leviathan, Sith cruiser and fleet command ship. Malak then appears and reveals your PC is in fact the Jedi/Sith Master Revan (big dramatic moment), and Bastila is captured after she attacks him to cover the rest of the party's escape. The gang then heads to the final Star Map planet and learns the location of the Star Forge. The Ebon Hawk is then disabled and crashes on the Rakatan homeworld, over which the Star Forge orbits. Your PC makes the final choice between LS and DS upon being confronted by a DS-converted Bastila on top of the Rakatan temple, and whichever party you choose then proceeds to the Star Forge. The LS Revan then saves the galaxy from the horrid, icky Sith or takes over the Sith for him/herself after defeating Malak in the big, bad finale. TSL--The jedi exile X, who joined Revan in the battle against the Mandalorians but left before he/she fell to the Sith is in a bad way after being sedated while on the run from bounty hunters. He/she was kicked out of the jedi after destroying the Sith base on Malachor V, which also mysteriously wiped out his/her connection to the force. Ending up on Peragus, he/she then embarks on a mission to find out just what the hell is going on in the galaxy. The jedi are few and scattered, and the Sith are running around leaderless after Revan (either LS or DS) departed to the unknown regions to battle unknown threats. Much is hinted at throughout this game, very little is ultimately revealed. The exile regains his/her connection to the force and gathers a motley little bunch on the Ebon Hawk, cruising from planet to planet trying to find a coherent storyline. He/she eventually discovers party member Kreia is in fact Darth Trayus, leader of a Sith order who seeks the death of the force itself. The exile has the ability to absorb life energy/force from defeated enemies, and this ability was born at Malachor V. It also spawned the planet-munching Darth Nihilus, who your party must also defeat en route to Malachor V to confront Kreia and Darth Sion, who has stalked your PC throughout the game like a rabid skip tracer. Eventually, all the baddies are toast and the game sort of stops, leaving a whole pile of looses ends and Revan still somewhere out there battling unknown, unsaid, un-fleshed out ideas. KotOR 3--Hopefully, when it comes out, we'll know where Revan went and what he/she's been up to, deal with the final Sith threats and with a little luck, throw in all the missing content from TSL. Arátoeldar
Good Cliff Notes Mace_MacLeod but Malachor V was where the final battle in the Mandalorean War took place.
RellikRats
Huh. ...The memory-challenged Revan meets the terminally whiny Carth Onasi as they pile into the last remaining escape pod... Well, that just has to be the best summary I've ever seen, LOL. Nicely done
