Guest Spiff
If this is the case, then they're going to have quite a time trying to come out with games for the teen and young adult crowd (unless you count Galactic Senate: the Corrupt Beaurocrat Simulator). No doubt combat sims are out of the question, it appears that there is no Republic military in existance.
Nute Gunray
Now, remember, Episodes II and III are a major war that the Republic is highly involved in. Episode I was the equivalent of the US involvement in Somalia, not many people involved. ------------------ Signature...can't think of anything this time. redstormvfa87@icqmail.com
Rebel Loyaltist
True. You'll probably take the the role of a made up character and follow the story line or one of the major characters and follow the story like Anakin and experience his change to the dark side. ------------------ The Rebel Alliance. They're the best. Enough said. The Empire sucks. Too much said. http://go.to/rebelguardians hockeypro1@aol.com
Guest Fondas
I'm sure that you're all aware of the fact that Mr. Holland has left LucasArts. Whatever spacesim LA will publish from now on, it won't be from Totally Games. We hope that the best is yet to come, but the creator of XW, TF, XWvsTF and XWA is no longer co-operating with LA. That fact makes me really sceptic...
Guest Scoundrel67
George Lucas is the equivalent of the Emperor--the Emperor of the children's fairy tale "The Emperor's New Clothes", that is. As he said in his 60 Minutes interview, he has enough money to finance everything by himself, so he doesn't have to listen to anyone else's creative criticism or input. Lucas peaked in The Empire Strikes Back and the series has been sliding downhill steadily as ol' Georgie becomes more and more divorced from reality and insulated from outside influences. This is clearly a case of the idea being better and bigger than the man who created it in the first place. After the dismal and insultingly childish Episode I: The Pretty Mediocre, I really can't say that I'm all that optimistic about any videogames derived from Episodes II or III. No matter how technically good the games might be, if they follow the so-called plot of a real turkey like Episode I, I'd only buy then if they received stellar reviews at Daily Radar, Hot Games, Game Spot, etc...and maube not even then. You'd think that Lucas would mature and get better with each movie, but this clearly isn't the case. ------------------ They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Nute Gunray
You do realize that TPM was supposed to be a childish movie targetted to a younger audience? That's why there was a nine year old kid and a 14 year old queen as two of the main characters. ------------------ Signature...can't think of anything this time. redstormvfa87@icqmail.com
Tek Gunner
Really. How emotional did you expect it to be?? I think Lucas did a good job doing what he intended to do. He introduced all the characters, and put them in some kind of "conflict", which I imagine will be no where near the intencity of the Clone Wars. If you think that Episode 1 was "childish", then you really are taking the movie way to seriously and not taking it for what it really is. At least wait till Episode 2 till you pass any judgement on ol' George...that flick is gonna kick ass. Seriously.

Taarkin
I wonder if LA realizes their most successful games(the space sims, JK) weren't based on the movies? And yes. TPM did suck. ------------------ I hate redundant hipocrites. I also hate hipocrites who are redundant. Guest Thrawn
GL knew for a fact that TPM was going to be the worst and most boring of all of the movies because he had to introduce all of his characters in one movie. That's kinda hard to do with a conflict as well. He did a good job of it with a lot of action. Episode 2 will rock your world after seeing EP 1. It's going back to ESB standards ------------------ "Have no fear, your local Grand Admiral is here!" ThRaWn90,RAL_Thrawn Rogue
Guest AceAzzameen
I believe eps 2 & 3 will make people believe in GL again. And hopefully they'll make some great games too. And Taarkin. X-Wing was based around A New Hope, with the trench run & intercepting the Death Star plans. And one expansion was based on finding & colonizing the base on Hoth. But it was a loose base, as you weren't Luke Skywalker, you were a trained rebel pilot(Farlander, right?), moving through the combat simulator & flight training & all. And Dark Forces was only based on one mission relating to the movies, where you steal Death Star plans. So I guess I'm saying you're right, although the ideas began based on the movies, they went above & beyond into their own stories, making them some of the best games ever. Like the first missions on Force Commander were just amazingly fun, being part of A New Hope & involved in the story. As well as making the attack on Hoth later on. But it was better when the game moved to it's own creative missions. That's why a game like Rebel Assault wasn't much fun. You fly through stuff just exactly like the movie & then you're done & the game is boring. ------------------ "With the blast shield down, I can't even see. How am I supposed to fight?"
