Master Zionosis
Hi this is to all the model experts here. I'm having trouble with the animations on my lightsaber, If you scroll down the forums you'll see my "new light saber" thread, i'm creating a downward lightsaber like adi gallia's in jedi power battles the game. Anyway to my problem, whenever i open the short lightsaber ascii model and make my alterations, when i export it seem to be fine but when converting with mdlops there's no animations on the saber like the saber turning off but the blade stil there, and the blade on but if you turn the camera round it dissapears. Can someone please help cause by the end of the day i'll have no hair left.
T7nowhere
YOu should follow the replacer tutorial that comes with mdlops or the last part of my tutorial http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143805
Master Zionosis
Your tutorial is the one i used to do it but it doesn't seem to extract the animation's. Now i don't like repeating what i say in a tutorial so im sure YOU don't either, but i cant see what it is i'm doing wrong.
T7nowhere
You don't need to extract the animations. mdlops replacer function replaces the hilt only. From what I'm reading in your post is that your making the mistake of using the model compiler and not the replacer.
Master Zionosis
Well i have done both but i havn't really used the replacer that much so i'm compleatly clueless.
T7nowhere
Open the folder where mdlops is and double click the file replacer tutorial.txt. that will tell you everthing you need to know. This the only way to get the blades to work as they should.
Shem
It sounds like Zionosis problem was the same one I had that I finally resolved. Just make sure you have a default Bioware hilt (mdl and mdx file) for whatever type of saber (double, single, short) you need and for what game you want to move the hilt to in the mdlops folder. Then have the hilt you want to make a ported one in there too. In the replacer function make sure you put the ascii in the ascii section and the binary model (the hilt from Bioware) in the binary section when you hit the replacer fuction.
