I mean, the cat could have come back to life and untied the weights before it sank) ------------------

Curiosity didn't kill the cat - how could a feeling kill someone? If I am curious about, to say, how big is the biggest banana in the world, is the curiosity going to kill me? No, the biggest banana is going to kill me - as it's so big that it'd rip my mega-stomach open if I'd eat it in one piece! So, the event, lead to BY the curiosity, killed the cat - curiosity is only partly quilty, you should know ------------------
