Natty
I've been doing some thinking over the weekend (basically since I saw The Mummy Returns) and why is it that sometimes sequals can be as good as the origional and other times they can be crap? A movie like Starwars, the sequals are all over the place in terms of crappyness, most people I know say in the origional trilogy their order of faves goes as Empire, New Hope, Jedi (I think the ewoks has something to do with the fact that no one likes it, I think they're cute) What about the Scream Trilogy? The first one was definatly the best, the 3rd one, well don't get me started on it, what a complete ripoff On the DVD it says "alternate ending" Alternate ending my backside, it was the exact same thing only shot from a different angle, "Alternate ending" means something different happened, not different angles Then there was Grease2, was there any need for it? Heeeeeey it had a good soundtrack though, so I guess it wasn't a complete loss But there's always my fave sequal and thats T2-Judgment Day as far as I'm concerned heaps better than the origional Terminator Anyways, I'm kinda babbling a bit, but what does everyone think about movie sequals? Usually good or usually bad? Half the time do we really need sequals though? ------------------ Check Out My New Homepage, And Sign The Guestbook, Otherwise I'll Be Upset! Al1587246385
I think sequels are usually bad. But thats because u have to put more effort when making a sequel than when making the original movie. If u take a crappy movie and make a really good sequel (Terminator 2) the movie gets famous. If you take a good movie and make a crappy sequel (The Land Before Time 2, and 3) the reputation of the trilogy gets bad. Natty, only for curiosity, u said that u saw mummy 2. did you like it better or worse than the first 1?
Kid
for the same reason that some movies are good and some are bad. Directing, acting, writing, sometimes they just suck ------------------
Natty
I liked it, just not as much as the first one, I dunno I thought they were maybe focusing on the special effects more than the story, and I don't like Rick and Evie anymore, they were funny when they were pretending they didn't like each other, all they do now is kiss

Guest Brighteyesmonkey
Grease 2? God that was crap! I've seen the original in theatre three times! Dancing in the aisles! Great fun. Star Wars? I have to admit the latest one TPM is my fav. Jurassic park is another example. ------------------
AFish01
The sequel is never as good as the original. Take for instance: Batman (Quite good) Batman returns (quite good) Batman forever (ok if you like that thing) Batman and Robin (why on earth would someone commision a film like that)
