Hayden Kered
I have been looking for free ringtones for my cell phone and most of the websites that I go to promptly demand your phone number. Are these type of sites safe to use? Does any body know of a trust worthy place to get free ring tones?
Sabretooth
I take it you're looking for polyphonic tones. If yes, then look for MIDI files instead of ringtones. Here are some places I managed to dig up: http://www.midishrine.com/ http://www.vgmusic.com/ http://www.free-ringtones.uk.com http://www.midicenter.com This tool supposedly converts MP3 to MIDI. Haven't used it, though. This is a MASSIVE stash of midi ringtones. Recommended only for fast connections.

MdKnightR
I use Mixxer for my needs. They only charge you like $7 for a 6 month unlimited download subscription, but you can upload and edit your own mp3 and jpg files to add to your phone for free. Bimmerman
I just use my sound card to record clips from any input source(ipod, itunes, ...) in mp3 format and then email the file to my cell phone. Absolutely free if you're already paying for internet on your phone, and with verizon, possibly even without paying. For verizon phones, send it to your number at vzwpix.com: 1234567890 @ vzwpix .com. I'm not sure how it works for non verizon. You need to be able to recieve picture messages, as normal texts are too large for the files. This method also works for sending pics from phone to comp or vice-versa
