TheShaman
I've been practicing parry and attack parries for a while, and I noticed that I can attack parry nearly every (and any) enemy swing by walking backwards and tapping attack in the right time. I thought you had to do a proper parry (with good direction according to the enemy swing) AND to tap attack in the right time to perform an attack parry. So if it's not a bug, it should be like I said, because it's far too easy at the moment.
razorace
Backwards just tends to be the movement direction for most parries since most players attack while moving towards their opponent.
JRHockney*
it doesnt parry side swings or especially low swings as well though doing that underside attack parry gets a backwards moving person everytime.
TheShaman
But I'm sure I parried diagonal slashes while doing this... shouldn't I have to move both backwards AND on side to block a diagonal slash?
razorace
Not really. We allow the player to be 2 quadrants off when determining block directions.
TheShaman
Then parrying is far easier than I thought... I thought you had to move backwards for a vertical slash, side for the appropriate side slash, and both backwards (or forward, according to where the slash will land) and the appropriate side to block a diagonal slash. razorace
It's still pretty difficult the way it is.
TheShaman
Well if I got it, diagonal slashes can be parried by just walking backwards or just walking to side, right? It's like a vertical slash AND a side one, so it's the easiest to parry...
razorace
yeah, basically.
