A never ending struggle of survival against a wave of destruction. No matter how many times you destroy the hordes, more will inevitably spring up. And no matter how many times you achieve victory, it only takes one defeat to end the world. It wasn't so long ago, only sixty years, since the last great battle. Two great lords of men, Baron Kadis and Emperor Marcus did battle in the great city of the Empire, Vaul. In the throne room of the Emperor, they fought for the future of the world, and in that moment, a black army of man and monster struck at the Empire from their hidden lair, crushing humanity under their iron-shod heel and enslaving the last vestiges of humanity. Under the iron rule of the traitor tyrant and former brother of the emperor, the black heart demon who enslaved his own kin. Virgil Valerian, the usurper. In his fortress atop Mount Erebus, he now rules all. All hope has now faded from the hearts of many. Twisted and mutilated men roam the streets of our silent cities, the once joyous roads filled with light and music are now silent, broken only by the cries of babies and the screams of torture of the supposedly disloyal. Now, none dare oppose the Emperor. The great heroes are vanished into the annals of history, and few live now who remember the days of joy before our fall. And now, The Emperor's soldiers come for me. The children have spoken the stories I told, and the rumor of my subversive tales have reached the ears of the Emperor. Tell others. Fight. Remember, there is always hope where the light of goodness shines. Return that light to this world. * * * * * * * Pretty different character sheet than what most of you are used to. Name: Age: Assigned Task: Appearance: Clothing and gear: History: Skills: Okay, first of all, everyone was born and raised in Vaul. All gear at this point will be improvised weapons, stuff that would be suited to your assigned task, like a pickax for a miner. I would prefer if everyone would send me a private message so I can make sure you got everything right, I don't want to see anyone's Katana-wielder cluttering the thread. Everyone has an assigned task. Miner, gravedigger, a few craftsmen, servants, pretty much anything that fits in, just remember that none of you are warriors.
