Lord Spitfire
Has anyone read the book titles Shantaram, by Gregory David Roberts? It is a fantastic book about an Australian fugitive who escaped from prison and fled to Bombay, India to work as a smugglerfor the Indian mafia. It's actually an autobiography. Sabretooth
I've read the book - it's an excellent piece of writing, personally. All of it is real, even though a lot of parts (as well as the detail with which Roberts writes) can get unbelievable sometimes! I highly recommend it anyone and everyone who can read. It's even being turned into a movie (which, I think is moving at a very slow pace) starring Johnny Depp. Though considering the epic nature of the novel, I doubt if a single movie could do justice to it. Lord Spitfire
Yeah, I was shocked when they were shooting Jhonny Depp in the movie along with Bolylwood actors. Jhonny Depp in Shantaram . . . he'll do the book justice. You know that Depp's also one of the producers for the movie? I agree that it'll be hard to create a movie, but there's a lot of excess extra stuff that was good and unteresting tothe book, but unneccassary for the movie. Do you know, by any chance, the release date for he movie?
Sabretooth
No idea. Check IMDB for that sort of stuff. To be entirely honest, I still I have to finish the book. It's a fat, fat book with plenty of adventure! I've got the part where our macho hero takes a crack at Bollywood.
