corrupt models.bif

When installing kotor again after a long hiatus, I kept getting abort/retry/ignore errors when trying to extract the models.bif file from the first cd. I ignored it and finished the install and updated to 1.03. When I ran the game (my pc passed file, I've played kotor before with these cds and no problems afair) the main menu was flickering and flicking and white triangles were going crazy over the black background.

My solution? Asking someone to grab Zidrav from sourceforge and use my check file to make a patch file for me.

A 900mb file gets fixed with a 1-5mb file. I love zidrav.

Oh that's a clever solution. :) If you'd like to pimp Zidrav more broadly, you could post it in the Killer Apps thread in the General Tech Discussion forum. :)

vvvv Edit: Oh.... I interpreted from the above that you had already fixed your file and you were sharing your solution with others. :p

Still hoping someone will get zidrav and use my check file to make a patch...

Uh? You aren't very clear. What is your issue here? Why can't you do this yourself?

Sorry, but if this makes no sense to me, now it might not make any to others more knowledgeable. That also might explain why you got no 'takers' and tk responded the way he did above.

Your problem sounds like a scratched or dirty disc to me, but as I said I am not the most knowledgeable in this area.

I need someone to download zidrav and my check file and use them to make a patch file for me from their models.bif file so that I can fix mine. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

When I reinstalled kotor I was getting an error with models.bif, and the game won't load. If someone will use zidrav and my check file and then send me the patch file, I can fix my models.bif file. Zidrav fixes corruption and missing bytes by seeing the differences between a bad and good and making a file to make the bad one match the good one.
