I don't mind English, but my ancestors didn't come out here coz they were nawdy, they came out here, I don't know why, but they didn't steal coz my family is a good family biggrin.gif

[/b]

Unfortunatly, my family wasn't a good family. I am a descendent of the Campbell and the McCloud clan. I just found out, I am descended from Robert the Bruce. Anyway, the Campbell clan betrayed the scottish for the english and commited various dishonorable acts against the McClouds including murdering them in their beds. I would not last long in the highlands, they hate the Campbells there frown.gif

Natty I said you sound like an english girl cos they all drool over him aswell.

I think it's too early to say if he's got the brains? He wabnts to join the army for a few years b4 going into anything. Charles wants to be king first. But that won't probably happen because the quenn is looking like shes gonna live forever!

Whats the matter with Robert The Bruce? He was a king you know?

There is a story about my family. There was a knight called Sir Risington He went against the king cos he saw he was having an affair or something. So he stuck a springloaded sword under the throne but he was found out and fled.

We still have the Sword and Shield. Theres also a castle in Norfolk callled Castle Rising. We'e looking into it wether we have a claim to it.

You make top-hats out of FUR?

to:murta

yes back in the 17th - 18th centurie the europeons needed at least one good beaver skin top hat and one of those top hats would cost i`m not sure but i think it`s anywhere from 500$ to 2000$ witch was a lot for that period.

i don`t want to start the whole new france thing up again i just want to add that the french gouverment/king was trying to colonize new france because they had the "filles de roi" also they got money if they had kids and why would they have a gouverment in new france if they had no intention of colonizing it. plus france sent many criminals to canada not to hunt fur or fish but to start a new life and colonize.

and also i know the acadians were not "french" but they were not english witch is the point.

In Conclusion at first france just needed canada for cod and fur but the king did want to colonize it and it was a french colony for many years, anyways the argument is not that the french colonized canada it`s if there would be a usa and canada without the english aid.

yes i know they wouldn`t be called canada or usa but theyt would still be there.

VIKINGS, were the first to come to America.

And if only those silly vikings had bothered to try and KEEP their land, they would've colonized over there way before any of those southern europeans had even thought of the possibility of new land.

Well tecnically the Aborigionals were the first people to come to Australia, then the stupid friggen Europeans sent all their convicts to Australia mad.gif So tecnically I should be living in England right about now tongue.gif

While we're on the subject of this, I'm feeling a lil picky (maybe it's coz I'm past being sleepy so I'm all hyperactive) Anyway, you know how in EMI thingo craps on and he says he's from Australia? Stupid typical Americans or English people who don't check history first (I know this doesn't apply to everyone though) Maybe if they actually checked Australia's history they would realize that Australia didn't become Australia until January 1st 1901, before then we were known as 6seperate colonies who voted to become 1 country. Besides, when Australia was discovered it wasn't called Australia it was called New Holland (that was in 1616)

In 1642 a Dutchman named Abel Tasman sighted an island he called Van Diemen's Land. He did not realise that this island was a part of Australia. This island was later renamed Tasmania in honour of Abel Tasman.

In 1770 an expedition from England lead by Captain James Cook sailed to the south pacific. They were supposed to make astronomical observations. But Captain Cook also had secret orders from the British Admiralty to find the southern continent.

They sailed in the Endeavour. It had a crew of 94 men.

They landed in a bay on the east coast on the 29th of April 1770. Cook first called this place Stingray Bay, then he changed it to Botanist Bay and finally called it Botany Bay because of all the strange and unusual plants there.

He called this new land New Wales and then changed it to New South Wales. He claimed the land for England (even though the land already belonged to the Aborigines).

Captain Cook was also the first European to visit the Great Barrier Reef.

DID YOU KNOW

During the Age of Discovery Europeans sailed the seas "discovering" new lands that had been unknown to them till then. Columbus sailed to America, Magellan found the Philippines, and James Cook visited Australia. These visitors had a nasty habit of claiming these new lands as belonging their home countries. Columbus claimed America for Spain. Magellan too claimed the Philippines for Spain James Cook claimed Australia for England and so on. In doing this the European totally disregarded the local inhabitants who have lived in these lands for thousands of years. This practice came to be know as "imperialism" and "colonialism".
