Serpentine Cougar Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 What are your favorite games from the indie gaming scene? (Bonus points if they're free!) Here's mine: QuadNet - A fast-paced, addictive shooter where you control a green triangle on a board that tilts as you move - the corner's aren't as safe as you think they are! Plasma Pong - Pong taken to the next level, where you can shoot plasma to push the ball to the other side without it ever touching your paddle. flOw - Interactive natural selection; eat everything smaller than you to get bigger and explore deeper into the depths of the ocean. StepMania - A free DDR clone for PC, complete with the ability for users to add their own songs and step sequences! Freespace Open - The open-source space flight/fight sim, with a good single-player campaign and opportunity for many mods! Peggle - Addictive, colorful game that's kind of like upside-down pinball.

Even if you hate Pong (and you're going to hell for that), you should check this out - the special effects are awesomer than Crysis'. <_< >_> I'll mention Ragdoll Matrix Reloaded here, which is a fun, albeit somewhat pointless. It's more fun with another player, actually.

Sabretooth Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I caught Crayon Physics on Digg yesterday, and it is one spectacular game. Its similar to Armadillo Run, which is another spectacular physics-based game (which is actually worth its price!). Aww, seems the site has been taken down Damn. I say you look for a torrent or a mirror or something. It's a freeware game, so no guilt or law-breaking here.
Serpentine Cougar Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 That's a bummer about Plasma Pong; maybe they should have called it Plasma Ping or something to avoid the trademark stuff.... Armadillo Run reminds me of The Incredible Machine.
