Meglivorn
I started playing KotOR just now (I know, but better late than never ) and after the first game, started the 2 Well... let's just say, I'm disappointed. And start to wonder if there is a way to improve a bit. 1. the GUI. It's ridiculously huge! I play in 1280×1024 and the first game had a nice, clean interface. Is that possible somehow that the engine don't resize those damn elements just put them out? 2. The move of the characters. I loved the first one. It was perfect for me, maybe I had a few harsh words about the head models, but the move was great. I really felt like the people are walking and running, they have mass and muscles. In the secont I laughed out, and felt like in the '90 again (ok, nostalgy is a good thing and I was young and stuff but HEY!). The chars are like floating forward with rotating legs... sonic I swear.. So. Maybe if I could make the base movement speed a bit slower, it would look more real. I feel it's too fast, not realistic. Any ideas?? Please! It's hurting me!
RedHawke
1.) Can't be done (GUI elements are hard-coded)... making the gui change to fit larger screen resolutions was one of the imporovements made from the first game to the second. 2.) Not sure about this one. But again graphical improvements were part of what was implemented in the second game as an improvement. (Though I could swear there was some sort of mod that was released that messed with movement rates... could have been for TSL though.) Basically your complaints are what will happen when you play a newer game and then try to go back and play an older one. Recently I went back on my old 486/66 and played some Doom and Doom II, boy was I rusty, and boy did it look dated.
Meglivorn
Well, since I have problems with the second (newer) and I loved the first one, it's not really the case. BUT the feeling is quite the similar, I admit. With KotOR II I always feel I'm playing on my Amiga again (the object maps, the movement of the characters, everything). Yesterday I finished KotOR I second time and after that went back to II... "improvements"? Maybe on the head models a little. But THANKS anyway, for the answers (and for the Bastila clothes and jedi Mission mods ).
DarthJebus05
Yeah, almost everyone agrees the 1st one is better. Had a better storyline, ending and it didn't look like a 1997 game.
