HelenW
I was wondering if anybody here is called Keith. I got a strange email from someone called Keith who said they would like to chat sometime. And that is literally all they said. I don't know who they are or where they got my address from. Its not a virus thing cos it would have an attachment with it. Wouldn't it? It seems to be a domestic address. I thought it might be someone from here, by getting my address in my profile. if it is, if you let me know who you are then I will reply. Otherwise I'll ignore it cos it seems a bit weird. Or does anybody else know if it is someone from here.

HelenW
How do I find out his IP number.
Guest grannen
I'm not very familiar with the details in ICQ (I guess thats where you got it) but perhaps someone knows. If it is via Microsoft Outlook Express then right click on the sender and you can read the IP in the information. ------------------ Grannen
HelenW
OK! Did what you said Grannen, and a lot of gobbledygoop came up. I'm not sure if this is right but there were two different numbers. I'm presuming that one is mine but I'm not sure which. They are: 194.73.73.111 and 213.123.10.123. I think these are IP numbers. It was sent by email. I don't even have ICQ. I have AIM but I've never filled in my profile or anything so I don't think they would get it from there. This is really bugging me now. How did they get my address. Guest grannen
I havn't found any number close to a match in EMI Forum. It is not yours anyway. 194.73.73.111 is in Holland and 213.123.10.123 is registered at St Albans Hertfordshire. The correct one is where you can read it together with the line NNTP and/or X-trace in your information. You have probably registered your address at some membership web site and thats where it was found. In the 213.123.xx.xxx serie we have: classy tommy bassie Rocky Threepwood guybrush2003 Thomas Fellas Jimmy Ray Bilson III Jonathan Carter Mafex the golden monkey Matthew Arnold smorgy32 ------------------ Grannen [This message has been edited by Grannen (edited October 02, 2001).]

HelenW
thanks for checking Grannan. It's strange how all those weird people have similar IPs. I still don't know who it is, but I'm not going to answer it, it must be a weirdo, cos any normal person would introduce themselves properly and say where they got my address.
