How do I make a Wrist Blaster?

The flamethrower mod and mira's wristlauncher have inspired me to make soomethign very cool that Super Battle Droids all have. The Wristblaster.

But i have no idea as to how I would make it. I would, of course, replace a rnadom usles weapon with it instead of editing appaerance.2da, and i still don't know how to edit .2da files, and i'd rather stick to simple modding. So, my question is this How do you make a wristblaster? i don't want to use the blaster-holding animation, but rather the wristlauncher animation for when it fires. how would i go about doing this?
