shamguy4
Hello people... Im new on this site... I was polaying around cleaning up in my house when I found the game.... jk2... It is by far one of the best games I have ever played, and I wanted to play it again... and so I did... Then I discovered that there are still people out there discussing this game!!! I never knew about all these cool things I could do until I discovered this site!!!!!! I could make maps and all that stuff!!! thats pretty cool!!!! Do I need to know a lot about programming or is it pretty easy? and where can I download ready made maps? also are the maps only for multiplayer or you can make for single player? and how do you play them, if they are not part of the official game? where can I get jkradiant or whatever its called.... This is awesome!!!! I never found a game like this packed with so much goods!!! is the map thingy an official thing from lucasarts or someone made it? well thats enough questions for now.... sorry for asking too much... guess I am a bit surprised... I just need to be pointed in the right direction and I will figure it all out thanks!!
DeadYorick
1.You need to download a special package that Lucasarts released in order to create mods. 2. You can download maps from a mod site. This is one http://jediknight3.filefront.com/ 3.You can play them by putting them in your base folder. 4. I would recommend actually researching this sort of thing before blurting it out here asking for help. There are dozens of stickies on this forum with information like this. Samuel Dravis
Outcast is fun. I've never made a map myself, but I don't think the map itself requires too much programming, although scripting enemies doing things and cutscenes would probably require that. You can get maps at: The Massassi Temple JK2Files.com (make sure you select JK2 when looking at the mods) Lucasfiles I'm sure there are some others - pcgamemods.com used to have some, but they're mostly dead now - but those are the main sites to find mods and maps. There's a small tutorial on mapmaking at Massasi here. It has a link to JK2Radiant in the tutorial. Also, you might want to check out this forum. Have fun.
