Couple of questions reguarding KOTR1 and mods

First off, major apologies if this is the wrong place to ask or if this is answered elsewhere, I did look I promise :)

 

 

Firstly, a question about Mods in general. Will they work with existing save games? Does it depend on the mod?

 

 

Also, this is more of a mod from memory thing. Back when I played previously, I'm sure there was a mod which let you start as a Jedi, or at least get your lightsabre and robes. The game played exactly the same, but it started with a cutscene where a man asks you what colour lightsabre you wanted. I've looked on mod sites, can't find it. Does anyone remember this?

For your first question, most mods do* work with a save game. If it is a new content mod, try to load a save game before* you enter the area. Some mods in general will not fully function if you do not make a new game, so try it out first :)

I think there should be something in there.

Whether a mod works right away or with a new game depends on what the mod alters. If, for instance, the mod alters the contents of an NPC or container that has already spawned in the gameworld of your savegame then the mod will likely have no effect. But if it's something like some additional Force Powers then it obviously would not have these kinds of restrictions (you would just need to wait for level-up plus the appropriate prereqs). Make sure to consult a mod's read-me to see whether you will need to start a new game (or use an earlier save) for it to work.
