sickcyclenz
hi there, ive just got kotor2 again finally, love that game. but i cant play it because my graphics card sucks. ive tried many updates and all that but cant seem to get it going. ive seen from my searching that theres lots of nvidia issues that have been resolved, but not much on the intel graphics card. ive got a quad core 2.4, so theres no processing problems, just the video. its loads up fine and gets thru all the menus, initial character setup, and the first video fine. but when it actually gets into the game at the start on peragus, it just locks up, goes black, and crashes. fun. id really appreciate some help! heres a read out from the hardware scan: [sWKotOR] ReportDateTime=28/09/2008 5:48:12 p.m. SysInfoVersion=v1.00.60 GameExists=1 GameVersion=v2.00 GameInstallLocation=C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\SWKotOR2\ [OS] Name=WinXP Version=Windows XP v5.1 build 2600 Service Pack 2 Service Pack=Service Pack 2 Status=Pass [swapFiles] C:\pagefile.sys=2046 [CPU] CPUCount=1 CPUSpeed=2400 CPUFamily=6 CPUModel=15 CPUStepping=7 CPUVendor=Intel CPUName=Intel® Core2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz Status=Pass [Memory] RAM=2048 Status=Pass [Disk Free Space] C: (NTFS), UNICODE=89.22GB Status=Pass [CD-ROMs] DriveLetters=D:\ Drives=COMBO IDE5232CO,DVDRW IDE H16X [Video] Video Card Name=Intel® G33/G31 Express Chipset Family Video Memory=512 Desktop Resolution=1680x1050x32 @ 60Hz DirectX=DirectX 9.0c (4.09.00.0904) OpenGL Version=1.4.0 - Build 7.15.10.4990 OpenGL Vendor=Intel OpenGL Renderer=Intel Bear Lake B Vid Card Status=Warning Vid Card Driver Status=Pass GL Status=Pass DX Status=Pass [Audio] Sound Card Name=USB Audio Device Status=Pass ;Game Options from swkotor2.ini [Display Options] FullScreen=1 Disable Movies=0 Disable Intro Movies=0 Sort Modules=1 Width=640 Height=480 BitsPerPixels=32 RefreshRate=
Boba Rhett
Why are you running an on board chipset with such a nice computer? There might be a workaround to get it chugging along with the onboard but by far the easiest fix here is going to be to drop 50 bucks on a decent video card and be done with it.
