Digging up an old Mod

Recommended Posts

Most of you probably don't even know me (because most of you are new lol) but I had an old mod wish, one that would create a new color saber crystal called the Crystal Royale, since then I have given up, but I wish to start over again and resurrect my mod, I have all the tools I need as of now, and will begin right now on developing it, I will keep you updated and hope you can be a part of it.

(Here's what the saber royale looks like when it's just the saber, not the crystal)

Haha no it's not a bulb lol.

Update: I just got all the lightsaber models and crystal model files extracted, and I'm about to start putting everything together.

Edit: Okay so may take a little longer than expected, somehow all my save files have gone missing and I have to start over with a new game, but I'll get there I can get pretty far tonight.

Edit 2: Quick question, if ya don't mind. Does anyone know how they associated the crystal with the color? For example: how did they associate the yellow crystal with the yellow colored TGA?

upcrystals.2da and some lines in the model file.

In the 2da, there are several parts. For example, the blue sabers (the first lightsaber models) has its models in a row, with a blue saber crystal item file in an earlier column. It would be easier to look at the upcrystals.2da to understand.

As for the model files, extract the mdl and mdx files, find the mdl file in MdlOps, select "Read and Write", then press the Renamer button. In the plane fields, you put in your new saber texture.

In upcrystals.2da, make a new row, put in the required info for your new saber (crystal uti name, lightsaber info), then your saber is upgradeable.

What I just said was, in a nutshell, this tutorial.

Update: The mod is done! I will be uploading it to my website tomorrow, I'm way to tired to do it now I want sleep. The saber color does look different from the picture above however, I wanted to make it look a little better so it has a different look.

Edit: One more quick question before I upload my mod, is there any way to compact all the files into one file and it still work?

Hmm, I thought so, 'cause there's a lot of files lol but thanks anyway

Edit :Okay I know this is going to sound like I downloaded KotOR but trust me I didn't I remember the day I bought it, I had to take it back because it wouldn't work on my old computer, but they wanted to rip me off so I kept it, then I got a new computer and it played perfectly, I payed 20.00 USD for it at Target. However, a couple of nights ago I was wanting to play it, and my disc was in my room (which my little brother also sleeps in) it was dark and my brother was asleep so I had to download a No-CD exe, I really wanted to play it. So I kinda need a favor, it screwed everything up on my game (not my mod) and I was sort of wondering if anyone would be able to send me a copy of the original swkotor.exe please? I know how this sounds trust me, but ask me to prove that I bought it in anyway and I will.

Edit2: Nevermind, I guess I'll just re-install it

Edit 3: Done! It's uploaded and everything! I would like to ask someone to take a screen shot of it though, for some odd reason my game won't let me take screen shots. It explains how to get it in the ReadMe so enjoy!

(If you take a screen shot send it to me at {Snip})

Be sure to download Crystal Royale at the bottom and not Saber Royale

Edit 4: Never mind I got a screen shot
