BryanWee20
Does anybody know why both kotor and tsl have working models for belts even though they don't show up on the character? I mean for TSL I can understand since it was release prematurely but K1? If anyone could shed some light on the subject it would be very helpful. Trench
I think the belt models help the .uti file figure out which icon to use. But if you or anyone could find a way to get the belts to show up in-game that would be really cool.
Darth InSidious
It's unlikely that you'll get to see them in-game any time soon. The body models seem to lack the necessary hooks for such things, and fiddling with baseitems.2da produced no discernable results. My own pet theory is that they were built for K1 as a lazy (?) way of developing icons for items that wouldn't show up in-game, or else were meant to show on the PC in-game, but the idea was never implemented, and the files just ended up never getting junked. They then got carried over into TSL along with a lot of other junk. There's a lot of crap in the KotORs' files - K1's especially - that seems to be redundant, pointless copies of existing files, half-complete bits of stuff, half-junked stuff, etc.
BryanWee20
But still.. the models are actually skinned to look exactly like the icons.. I don't get it why bother modeling properly and mapping it with skins if they're just gonna use it get the icons to show up? My theory.. this is another one of those unfinished parts of K1 that got ported along to K2.. There has a to be a way to get them to show up. This would be a great addition to any restoration projects going on right now.. sigh I'm gonna try my luck and see if i can do it...
Darth InSidious
There aren't the model hooks. Without those, no amount of tinkering with 2da files or the models themselves is going to make the blindest bit of difference. IIRC, redrob experimented with hooks/dummies and found that you can't attach them to a model that never had them in the first place.
