Problem with scythe and metal detector

I have a problem. I have to get a metal detector from the kitty litter but I don't know how because my scythe is on the doors in the kitchen When I try to get it back, Manny says "Nah, if I let that waiter out now, he'd have me eight-balled from the club!". Any ideas?

yeah, use the kittyfood opener on the empty wine barrel and get in. play through the sequence in the basement and when you finish that you should be able to get your scythe back.
