Darth Avlectus
The Darth Bane series by Drew, of course. Seconded with enthusiasm. @ OP Also would recommend the newest series of "the old republic" currently being released as we speak. Have fatal alliance which I need to get back to. Looking to get Deceived when it is released. While Darth Malgus looks like a fusion of Vader and Malak, I am curious as to what makes him unusual and one-apart amongst his Sith colleagues. Sean Williams isn't too bad a writer. His novels of force unleashed do a good job. I'd say if you have not already bought the Force unleashed games, don't buy them. There's enough imagery and lore for your imagination, the books are almost always better. Clone wars era...I'd recommend anything Matthew Woodring Stover wrote if you don't mind some slightly technical martial artist embellishment. (ROTS novelization, Shatterpoint) Personally I like it. I'd also read works by James Luceno. (Darth Vader, rise of the dark lord, and Unifying Force) I'm also getting into the Jax Pavan trilogy.
