Nephus
Well, I'm at my wit's end here. I easily found out how to get the game to install and run thanks to the wonderful community of fans out there. Seemingly at random, a sound effect or Manny talking will start to glitch and loop a small section. The game stops responding to all input at this point, but you can still exit it normally. I'm running from the hard drive, per everyone's instructions, but to no avail. It seems like all the help out there focuses on fixing graphical glitches, which thankfully I'm not having. Curiously enough, running the game in compatibility mode removes all text, including menus. So I have no idea if that fixes the sound problem because the game is unplayable without dialog or system menus. Any help would be appreciated. Longcat
Did you install my patch from the sticky 'For all you people out there...' in this forum section?
hk007
I found in the Launcher's README file that in order to fix that you have to disable sound hardware acceleration in dxdiag. I'm running GRIM with wine1.4 right now on the 32bit Lubuntu 12.04, and I didn't find such option in dxdiag nor in winecfg. Hope this helps.
