νυrτ
I'm working on a TSL mod with some droid retextures and I'd love to have a normal map for HK-47 to make that model more metallic looking.. But i really suck at gmax (and the .mdl format in general) and there arent any importers that works for Blender that i've found. You don't need to create the actual normal map, i just need a reference to one in the .mdl.
DarthParametric
KOTOR doesn't use normal maps.
νυrτ
Sure it does, just not for every object. Anything in the game that is shiny has a normal map applied to it. Example: http://piclair.com/data/vlz0n.jpg
DarthParametric
Ah, I forgot about those (although you've obviously inverted the R and B channels for that one as they don't appear as traditional tangent space maps like that). As I recall though, they don't work properly, at least not via a TXI. Oh and anything shiny is just using an environment map which is merely specifying the degree of transparency for the diffuse texture through which you see the metallic (or otherwise) environment map. It has nothing to do with normal/bump mapping.
