I especcialy like it on the space maps where everyone is on their own island. Research that and then drop your transports where you KNOW they wont see them. build a force in the "hidden corner" and bring them in. Works well. Can also use it to know how far outside of their base to build where they still can't see you. Great for sneak atacks. And harder for them to sneak attack you. Costly but good. By the time you've managed to obtain 7000 nova, you should have the map pretty much scouted and have a fair idea already of where to attack from, that seems like a waste of nova, and if you were stockpiling nova until 7000, how did you manage to build anything else that required nova? You must have mined every nova source on the map!
duder
^^^yeah seems a bit odd that comment^^^ I only ever use spy net when i have them on the run, it cuts down on the time to finish them off, or building a new base up!
MrFan
Especially in multiplayer, the bothan spy net is very useful. It reveals the entire map and allows you to track everything from troop movement to building construction. This kind of recon is invaluable in determining what type of units are being built and where he is building them. It also helps in finding a weak spot in their bases. As far as cost, with a Spaceport and tons of workers mining Carbon, you should have no trouble paying for it.
