Anti-air weapons overly powerful

I dunno how most of u guys feel, but my pals and me feel that the anti-air weapons are overly powerful in the game...

 

All it takes is one or two shots to take down a starship.

 

It almost makes it no point to build any air uniits... that why most of my pals dun bother with air units

Z-95s are hardly hard to destroy :)

 

 

I find air attack to be a hugely useful. I was attackes by 10+ bounty hunters, 2 Sith and about 10+ dark troopers. Wiped my ground troops out. However, 4 light Y-Wings and a Z-95 took out every one of them, with few units lost (shield generator saved most)

i agree that anti air units are powerful

but that is their only function.. to kill air

 

but seriously.. i think that air units should have more Hit points

 

whats with the 30 hit points anyways

even with shields that just 60

 

how can ground troops have 150 and armored planes only have 30

Obviously ground troops have more hitpoints because there are MANY more things which attack them. Only a specific few can attack air. Furthermore air shields also can REGENERATE, so any skilled player will be able to effectively use this. Finally, air shouldnt be used to wipe out an enemy, thats not its purpose, it is for hit and run attacks and wiping out someone's economy. A good player will assault anti air facilities and then send in his air force.

I have to agree that air units should be more powerful, but also more expensive. However I think they wanted to make air units kinda like light hit and run units, so while they aren't anything like what they should be, they do have a purpose.

 

Now about adapting to the game, yeah of course. But there is no reason that we can't have a friendly discussion about the differant aspects of the game.

Anyways, i think that AA units aren't overpowerfull, because all they can attack is air. If they could attack both, then they would be powerful, but they can't, so they are worthless against everything except air. Thus, if your opponent doesn't have air, they aren't very powerful at all.

it bringd greater tatics to the game!!!

for example if you wanted to bomb a base you would have to get rid of the anti air turrets first so you might send you jedi to concert them.

 

o yea and darth mauls ship is in the game and it can cloak!!!!

so you can use that

Anti-Air needs to be very powerful. As it is now, if you are beat to the 3rd age by more then a couple minutes a good player can launch a crippling air attack on your villagers. You can defend with anti-air infantry but you need a significant number of them.

 

One of the first things you need to do when you get to the 3rd age is build a couple anti air turrets or build an air force. I have been very successful going to 3rd age at 19 mins and attacking at 22-23 mins with 8+ Z95's. I can often kill 20+ villagers of one team member and then kill 20+ villagers of the 2nd. I've won many 2vs1's this way.

It won't be that great since level 4 tech upgrade allows for homing missles :eek:

some of you people are really daft, air units are definatly too weak, its Unrealistic and considering most players are people with lives who cant just sit down and play it 24/7 to become "Professionals" like you others with obvously no lives

I'll put it this way. If air units were significantly more powerful they would completely dominate the game. How fun would the game be if everyone just rushed to get air units and never built anything else?

 

Even now against a enemy with Anti-Air turrets, you can send in 20+ Z95's and destroy most of an economy before all your planes are shot down. This can be decisive, since loosing 20 villagers is much worse then loosing 20 Z95's. I normally keep raiding with air units until the enemy has over built his air defenses. Then, I finish him off with ground units.

 

It's funny how people who have nothing intellectual to add just rush to insult people. I haven't played the game in over a week.
