CaptainRAVE
A new idea devised by the Amsterdam police is in the running for an international prize because it is said to have drastically cut the number of stolen mobile phones in the city. When a phone is reported stolen, the police then barrage it with SMS's in a technique known as bombing. The messages say "This handset was nicked, buying or selling is a crime. The police." The police say the bombs have cut thefts almost in half since January.
