Oh, and about my other comp: P233MMX 5 gb 5200rpm left S3 Virge and I can't pronounce the rest I'll be able to run 2400*1600 w/o getting a new monitor larger than my current 17". j/k jh

ed_silvergun Posted October 11, 2001 Posted October 11, 2001 I have begun to start overclocking experiments on my new system. The first stage is a simple multiplier adjustment. I have just hit 1.6GHz, and the system has been running stable at this speed for about 1 1/2 hours now... so I'm pretty happy with that. The second stage (tomorrow evening) will be some slightly more ambitious experiments with the FSB. I reckon with a bit of care, I could get close to 1.7GHz on this setup - and I'm only using a couple of conventional 80mm fans! It really pays to take the time to re-route all your drive cables and secure them with cable ties - you'll instantly drop your case temperature by several degrees, meaning an immediate increase in stability.
