CaptainRAVE Posted September 6, 2001 Share Posted September 6, 2001 Microsoft has sent testers a new copy of the embedded version of its XP operating system, designed to work with non-PC devices like kiosks, cash registers, and set-top boxes. This is a market that Microsoft has been trying to break into for some time, but has had trouble competing with companies already entrenched in the field, like Wind River Systems However, Microsoft seems to be gaining ground in the battle, with two major companies who use this kind of software joining Microsoft's Windows XP Embedded Rapid Development Program recently.
