Game Feedback/Improvements

After playing STGB a few times now I've noticed that there are some areas that should be improved upon to make it more enjoyable:

1. Resource Distribution - In a word Terrible. The resources by your command center seem to vary greatly regardless of the map you play. In AOK (the game STGB was modeled after), a person could at least expect a berry patch + 4-6 sheep but I've played some games where there was absolutely no free food by my command center.

2. Flare - IMO the flare noise must be louder (See AOK). If you are not paying attention to the miny map and your teammate does not send a chat message, it is very likely the flare can be missed.

3. Picking up Holocrons - When a Jedi picks up these items, the noise should be more pronounced. Unless you pay close attention, you can completely miss when a Jedi picks up these items.

Side Note:

Taunts - While it doesn't affect game play. A nice touch would have been to use the actual actors voices instead of what’s in the game now. Many of the taunts use lines from the 4 movies so I think this would have been possible to do. Again, this is nothing major but would have made the game that much better.

This is a function of what world you are playing on, and the fact that this is a Star Wars univese, after all. If you play on one of the maps where you're basically just mining an asteroid (there are a couple like that) you should assume there won't be much plant or animal life, and plan your worker distribution accordingly. Does that make it different, perhaps harder, than AoK on those maps? Yes. Should they change it to be more like AoK? Actually, no. I don't think this would "improve" the game. It's one of the differences that comes from playing a game in a Star Wars universe. They should keep all of those, no matter what other changes/fixes/expansions they make in the future.

Chessack,

Point taken, different game different maps. My problem with resource distribution is where my opponent or myself for that matter start out with decidedly more resources near their command center. This makes for an unbalanced game IMO.

For Proof start a 2 player game (e.g. forest map) on exployed and take a look at the resources near the two command centers. Again, I've played games where I get NO free food compared to my opponent who gets a berry patch + Nerfs. This hardly makes for a balanced game.

This is one of the best features in GB that was absent AOK. The variety alone will nake you think of what to build first. a nursery or a food processing center. No more build orders for maps loke arabia.

Guest Destroyer Droid

The flares deffinately need to be louder but the Resource Distribution is fine. The complete randomness of the resources keeps you thinking and scouting which breaks up the boredom of doing the exact same thing (which made build orders possible). Also it allows better playes to excel by making the best of what they have where newer players can't.
