Looks like the Gungans have a formidable army to deal with after all. Judging by the Gamespot previews looks like the Gungans are good in all the right places, mechs, troops and heavy weapons. The Fambaa shiled generator sounded cool at the start, but now after playing the demo and realizing how good it is to have shields, looks like they gonna be awesome! I thought they'd make the wookies the powerful army after the Imperials and the Rebels but looks like they gave it to the Gungans. For all of you that want to slay Jar Jar you're gonna have to find a way to get through the Fambaa shield generator and couple Leera's to do it.

Of course they do, and did you notice that by looking at the tech tree you will see that every civ really has every type of unit. If yo play a regular game then that civ will get what its supposed to have but if you turn on "all techs" then you'll see that the wookies will be able to go ahead and get a heavy mech and such. So even though they cant get something in a real game, if you turn on all techs, then they get all units classes!!! But i'm willing to bet that like in Age of Kings they will loose their civ specific bonuses such as gathering carbon faster and such.

Gungans are really really weak in the air, which means theysa better haves ones of the following.

AA troopers and AA "mechs" with them at all times... AA turrets

Gungan air units are a waste of time just having a few maybe for surprise attacks or scouting is it.

They are strong in the water I wonder if there will be any good water maps.

Any civ allied with the gungans is gona be hard to take down. Those darn fambaa shield generators make an army hard to stop, and with 300 health and 25 army, p[lus shields, the fambaa shield generators themselves are almost unstoppable

anti-air falls under heavy weapons which is one of their specialties. And even if you dont got the money for a anti-air weapon then they are also good with anti-air troops! In age of Kings there were lots of maps with bodies of water and even the ones that didnt have lots of water had some fairly large rivers for fishing and such that you could put some cannon galleons in to keep people from building close to the shoreline. With a ground and naval force as strong as they got you really dont need a good air force, just enough to have something up there when you need it is all which is why i think Gungans, Trade Fed and Imperials are gonna be the strong civs and Wookies, Naboo and Rebels are gonna be the fairly weaker civ, but only time will tell...we wont know for sure until the full game is out and maybe then those level 3 bombers will make me eat my words..who knows.

Its a mobile sheild generator, although its shield range is shorter than a normal one. Fullr upgraded it has 15 armor and 300 health, and adding the shields to that, its gona be one tough mutha to kill

Yes it is and they have tough troops, mechs and heavy weapons to put under that shield...also, they can have their weak air escortign the fambaa shield generator and now the gungans have shield generated air units!:D

yeah, looking cool is a big factor...we've seen the rebel and imp units like a million times in like a million games. THe gungan units are new and cool looking, so are the trade federation...i especially like how the trade fed bombers look.
