Nitro
Um.... No. The original Gundam series was done in the 80's, I believe... Long before any of your Power Ranger bull.

Guest Conor
It might be...if they were the least bit similar. As far as I can tell they both have machines, and there the resemblance ceases. Battle of the Planets and power rangers are pretty similar IMO.
Lion Heart
Can't handle the truth huh? 1. The GW series starts off as 5 kids that are the heros of the story. So does Power Rangers. 2. They both have 5 huge machines that they control. 3. GW have really bad translations. So do Power Rangers. 4. Both have plots that change dramatically. Guest Conor
Well, it can't get more conclusive than that. I'm sold.

Guest Conor
Gundam celebrated its 20th anniversary in 1999. Power Rangers premiered in 1993, while GW followed in 1995. As most of the formula for Gundam preceded GW, the only real overlap between PR and GW is the number 5. Not much of a case. Especially after watching them and realizing that the plot and spirit both shows embody are utterly different.

Nute Gunray
I would say Ronin Warriors (what was it originally, Samurai Trooper or something?) would be closer to Power Rangers than GW was...I mean you had five guys (!) that got to turn into some kind of super warrior and were battling the thugs of some dude that was all powerful and evil. Nute Gunray
Some of the bad guys on Ronin Warriors were neat, especially the leader guy because he wore like nine swords on his back like a pea****'s tail. And on THE POWAR RANGARS there was GOLDAR who looked like the aliens in the Arthur C. Clarke book Childhood's End.
