Player Associations...

Any of you guys planning to join/start a player association at all? I was thinking of starting a former Massassi Temple association of some sort. Anyway, any other thoughts on this?

I'm going to wait and see what pops up. I'm interested in leading a PA, but I'm waiting to see if there will be any negative effects to doing it, such as a requirement to put skill points into leadership skills.

Maybe a small, sneaky PA with as little organisational structure as possible ("I take orders from one person; Me!).

I'd like to run a harsh facist rodian PA actually, following in the footsteps of Navik the red and the Chattza clan. I wonder if gladiator hunts will be possible...?

Yeah, now that I think about it I want to look into having a massassi PA.

I've got one started actually. The site is still in the works; I'm currently writing all the php code to do the administration of accounts and such. I still have a lot of work on the member and network section so all the dynamic stuff is functioning.

Some PAs might say you can only join there's. Personally, I don't care.

You can be in as many PA's as you want, but only one PA per character. The PA may not like it, for whatever reason, but that doesn't mean you can't do it.

I might start a second PA, for people's rodian characters...unless it's too much pressure.

Well, when the game comes out, you'll only be able to join/start one PA per char. If you have multiple characters, they could each join seperate PAs. For instance, if you have a female twi'lek dancer, she can be in the 'l33t dancers PAs', and if you have another char, say a evil zabrak, he can be in the 'evil zabrak darth maul wannabes' PA.

Can PA's have formal alliances or do the leaders just get together and say, "Let's be allies!"?

They still haven't given us a lot of details as to how PA's will interact in game. We know you will be able to declare (consentual) war on another PA.

Jodo, that's a good question. I don't think it's been brought up on the dev chats at SWG, but it might be a good question to ask. I do know that there will be some support for PA wars, because PVP will be an active part of that.

Now there is somebody with some ambition! Go for it!

 

The one thing that I found interesting is the fact that you have to become a jedi before you can even entertain the notion of a dark jedi. I really am interested to see how it will work.

 

Back to the topic at hand. I'm not sure if anyone has been to the development boards recently, but there has been some interesting topics about PA's. The topic as of late has been revolving around MFPA (Multi Factioned Player Associations) and about joining PA's. Nothing really earth shattering. A lot of bickering and such. Although Holocron (aka Ralph Kostor, the Creative Director of SWG) has been visiting here and there and posting some of his thoughts.
