The Truthful Liar
Well I was pondering before going to sleep... and this is what got me up I understand that there will be (for sure) "Character Differences" meaning height, size etc... again, similar to Q3. BUT: In Q3 for instance Tank Jr. has more health/armour yet he is less agile and moves slower will that be also the same case for JK2? Another Point (to clarify): I heard some 'rumors' about 'undersized' (or oversized) characters would have differences in the game, meaning to carry on special attributes. (For instance... wouldn't it be harder to hit a 2-3 ft character?) According to their size/attributes, would there be different ways to handle characters? Making the game more complex and challenging for the player to remember how to take on each and every opponent that enters the game, producing excitement at every step? It would be Very Cool/fun. At the same time Very Hard/difficult. So basically I am asking: will this factor be availiable (implemented) in JK2? I am hoping that there will be as I mentioned, differences from character to character creating gameplay a more rich and enlivening experience then again, that's me hoping for the best *watches everyone walking away sighing* - It was worth a shot -
[SWS]Strider
I'm not sure if this is how it will be in JK 2 but in EF, you could have small models, such as snoopy. Only thing is it didn't matter, if I shot over snoopy's head about a foot, then it would still hit him. Basically it kept the same model size, it just appeared smaller. UniKorn
As for a richer environment, I always play with the force_player_model option enabled, showing all players as the same model. And I am sure that many of the proclans will use that option as well.
The Truthful Liar
Awww... that's a real shame - well there's nothing wrong to continue on hoping I still have a feeling 'size does matter' or at least will kthxbye - AB_Legion, who is still waiting for the JK2 Demo..... chilli
In jk there was a size difference, not frequently but in Brothers Of The Sith tha small dude is smaller not just in looks but in the actual reality.
JPMaximilian
That reminds me of playing Golden Eye for the 64, Odd Job was so short it was unfair to everyone else, It was sooo hard to shoot him.
Kurgan
I guess I just missed out... but I swore that Tank Jr. was the same as everyone else (in health/speed) in Q3. I even recall an interview with Carmack about how they *wanted* to put in varying health/speed according to the model, but <b>didn't</b> because of the complexity of balancing issues. I guess I'll have to reinstall the game and double check that...
The Truthful Liar
ho ho! well we all learn new things every day now don't we? Yet Tank Jr. is not a very good choice though - at least not for Rail Gun Tournaments or Instagib Games (which is the same I think...) Not so frequently anymore though I said that (kthxbye) as a joke of course, but yes looking back at it - it is funny (sigh... good times... good times...)
