Sine Nomen
I'm trying to flesh out my own little sci-fi universe, that just happens to bear a striking resemblance to an amalgam of SW, ST, and B5, for a JO mod. The basic premise is this: the Rebels want the Federation to join the war against the Empire (ships, resources, manpower, etc..), and assassinate a Fed ambassador to implicate the Empire. :evil1:The B5 races comprise the Federation, as opposed to the vulcans/bolians/betazoids, etc.. Kinda weak, I know; that's why I need help fleshing it out. Don't respond if you aren't seriously in to SW or ST, or are incredibly stupid. Cyclone
I'm incredibly stoopid, so I won't respond.

Kurgan
Cool. May I recommend an interesting site on the issue of ST/SW crossover type stuff: http://www.stardestroyer.net
JPMaximilian
That could be pretty cool, you'll lose some hard-core Star Wars only fans though, but you could pick up some other people.
Imp Destroyer
there is something I feel I should mention..... The ships of the Star Trek are smaller than those of the Star Wars universe but are far more powerfull. The Enterprise-D, is shorter than a FRIGATE. The Star Wars ships use fuision reactors while those in ST use matter-antimatter reactors which produce more power than fuision reactors of the same size. Plus, in the SW universe, i think, only ships as big as SSDs or larger can be cloaked. The Kligon Bird-of-Prey has a crew of only 35! The Defiant from DS9, is, I think, smaller than the original Enterprise, but more powerful than the Enterprise-D. The Enterprise-E is not a ship you would meet in a dark alley. Though there are no fighters in the ST universe they would probably create fighters that are better than SW fighters and would be able to tear up the Empire. And the transporters in the ST universe would be a major advantage, one ship from ST could capture an ISD by simply beaming the people off the bridge and replace them with their own people and take over the ISD without having to fight to long or they could beam explosives directly into the reactor core. And they could rescue prisoners quickly and effectivly. ST ships are faster than SW ships by far, both at sublight and faster than light, ST ships have max sublight speeds from 1/4 to 1/2 the speed of light. And the warp dirves can go faster than even the Falcon, much faster, the warp numbers are a logarithmic scale. The weapons on ST ships have longer range weapons, hundreds of thousands of kilometers not 20km, plus most ST ships have either photon torpedoes or quantum torpeados that are very powerfull and fast, they travel at warp! The Kligons are another matter for assault. I think this post is long enough and you understand. I am a fan of both SW and ST.
Imp Destroyer
i think my previous post was a little long, sorry i do get carried away sometimes as well, the B5 ships might have a little problem, none of them have shields and that website, it sucks, they didn't allow for theatrical influences, ugh, some people are so d@*# critical! or too biased
Fruitloop
A sci-fi crossover would be a cool MOD indeed, particularly with the universes you mentioned. Although I'm forced to agree with Imp Destroyer; 90% of the ships seen in B5 could be outmatched by almost anything from the ST and SW universes. Most of the Babylon 5 races have yet to develop basic artifical gravity tech for their ships, shields, transporters, or other essentials that would allow them to challenge the Enterprise or an ISD. Heck, the Earth Alliance's mid-23rd century flagships, the Omega-class destroyers, basically use an overpowered dental X-ray laser as their main guns and need that spinny section to keep half of their crew from floating about. Then again, I guess you can't go wrong with kamikaze attacks. Earthers like shooting and ramming each other.
Imp Destroyer
Fruitloop is right, this would make a cool mod the B5 fighters, though, would propably hold their own againts SW Imperial fighters, both have no shields, the Membari fighters would most likely be better than TIE interceptors the Exaliber from B5 Crusades, probably be able to knock out an ISD in one hit from its main guns, and its advanced armor might be able to take on a small Imperial force, and it might be able to seriously damage an SSD the Techno-Mages from B5 would be the equivalent of a Jedi, and one could take over an ISD easily
Guest toms
huh, the empire can destroy planets!!!!! the federation would spend their whole time trying to talk peace and worrying about infringing the imperial's civil rights by killing them.... i seem to remember the problem with that site comparing SW and ST tech was that there was no internal consistency in the universes themselves... so how could you compare them to each other fairly. B5 might have had the lowest tech level, but it "felt a lot more real" than ST, or even SW. ships moved correctly, only the very advanced raced had zero G tech, the less advanced humans had to have rotating parts to their ships... B5 and SW might go together quite well, both have a cool "low tech" look and feel that make them both recognisable and interesting. ST has a weird "clean" look (at least after the original series) , everything is high tech, force fielded, techno babbled.. not really anything you can relate to. i don't think it would mix in at all with the others.
