I used to post here under the name BluRR until the forums were switched over to the fancy shmancy Lucasforums, but you can give me a welcoming gift if you want. Anyway, I have a question for you techies out there. There's no way I'll be able to afford a new computer before JKO comes out, but I will be getting a video card so I'll be able to enjoy the game until I can. My current System Config is: P3 733, 384 MB Ram, 16 MB nVidia Vanta Video card. I'm not going to get anything too expensive for this computer, just something that will run the game better than my current card. I've narrowed it down to 4 cards that I may consider buying. I would like you guys to suggest what card I should get between: GeForce2 Pro 64MB - $86 GeForce2 TI 64MB - $75 GeForce2 GTS 64MB - $89 or even the GeForce4 MX 440 - $102 I got all of these prices of of pricewatch.com. OnlyOneCanoli Posted February 17, 2002 Share Posted February 17, 2002 Don't get that GF4 MX. I'm pretty sure that was a mess up and it won't be $100 or whatever people are selling it for. If you were willing to spend $102 on a GF4, I would highly suggest getting a GF3 Ti200 for only $30 or so more--that card has a couple years left in it's lifetime while the GF2 series won't be running stuff a lot sooner. Outlaw Posted February 17, 2002 Share Posted February 17, 2002 The Geforce 3 Ti 200 is probably the best videocard for the money out there. In realtime gameplay it runs games almost as fast as the Ti 500 yet costs much less. If the 200 comes with a fan it can be overclocked easily. My 200 is not even overclocked yet I have no problem running the lastest games. I would like to upgrade to a Geforce 4, to be the first on my block and all, but I have no reason to as yet.
