Iceweasel
Sorry if this has already been asked or resolved by Raven. Since JKII is based on the Quake 3 engine, is there any plan for a Linux multiplayer server? How many people would want to run one (/me raises his hand first)? TornSoul
This has been discussed before. However I have been doing alot of questioning and emailing (Raven, LEC, Gaming server providers) and so far I haven't had any official comfirmation of Linux dedicated servers. I have been told the programmers at Raven want to make one, but that it is up to LEC to tell them to make one. I haven't had any reply from LEC yet. I think it would be really stupid if they don't make one, mainly cos most gaming server providers run Linux and won't run JK2 if there isn't a Linux dedicated server. Darth Lunatic
That's true. Most mulitplayer game providers, probably 90% of them won't run servers unless they're Linux. So if there is no Linux server version, this game will have very little chance of becoming popular online. Take Medal Of Honor for instance, no Linux dedictated server, so theres barely any good servers to play on.
