JEDI_5000_15
jedi knight was a sell out but this game is going to be very big. 24 levels new guns new mp levels new battels ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The game once again follows the adventures of Kyle Katarn, the protagonist in the two previous installments. In the first game Kyle left the Imperial Army to join the Rebel Alliance. In the second he became a Jedi Knight. By the time the game ended, he avenged his father's death and stopped Jerec and his group of Dark Jedi. However, he chose to abandon the way of the Jedi for fear of succumbing to the dark side of the Force. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jedi Knight II takes place several years after its predecessor. Kyle stumbles across the machinations of another dark Jedi. In order to stop him Kyle must face his spotty past and reclaim his Jedi heritage. Along the way he'll meet up with Luke Skywalker, go through some Jedi trials, and earn back his lightsaber. Some people might think the game is about one man's journey of self-discovery as he searches deep within his soul, but we think it's about beating up storm troopers. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------When the game was first shown at E3, critics raved about its graphics. Its visuals definitely benefit from using the Quake III engine, but since then several developers have raised the bar in terms of its capabilities. For sure the game is looking great and certainly the best the series has ever looked, but after seeing what Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault can do with the engine, we've come to expect more. Perhaps it's unfair to Raven Software, but gamers have been spoiled with some fantastic games using the Quake III engine and as a result, the graphics in this game do not seem as impressive as they once did. Again, the game is looking very good, but lately we've been seeing some great stuff. Sound, on the other hand, is shaping up to be inarguably great. Who's going to take a shot at a John William's score? How can one find flaws in the unmistakable whir of a Lightsaber or the timbre of a Blaster rifle? In terms of style and reproducing the feel of the movies, the music and sound effects are perfect. That isn't to say the developers are just phoning in the sound. The game uses a dynamic music system that matches the intensity of the situation. If you're sneaking around and being stealthy, the music will be slower and quieter. If you're in the middle of a firefight, the music will be faster and louder.

StormHammer
Actually, I cannot see the reasoning behind this thread. You have simply taken excerpts from previews that many people on these forums have already read - the links to which can be found on the main jediknightii.net site. You've made no comment on the details you've highlighted. I'm glad to see you're enthused about the game...but I'm going to have to close this thread.
