Sir Elgnid
Okay, I'm loving the game! Star Wars in a box! What more could a guy ask for? I'm starting to play through the single player campaigns and I'm having a good time with it, although I do have a question for some of you out there. I'm on the third scenario for the Trade Federation and it's taking me a while. I'm 2 hrs. into the scenario and it looks as if I should have the win. I've still got to destroy 2 more starports, but it shouldn't be too tough, it's just taking me forever! Now I know I'm not the best RTS player, but what am I doing wrong here? Or are the campaign scenarios just on the longish side??? I finished the Rebel Alliance scenario 1 last night in just under 3 hrs. I think. Now don't get me wrong, I love the game and I don't mind that the scenarios are taking me a while to complete, I'm just trying to gauge my skill here. Maybe it's just my age showing! LOL! I've played on the Zone and I would say I'm inbetween a noob and an inter skill-wise. Mr. Gaber and company, good job! SWGB is a good game. My suggestions to make it even better are really just minor nitpicks. The Gameplay balance feels right. The building and structure graphics are spot on. I even think the unit graphics look good. The only graphical improvements I'd like to see are dealing with the laser blasts and explosions and fire effects on buildings. These just look extremely cartoonish and not nearly as polished as the rest of the graphics in the game. I'm saving my pennies so I can get the X-pack! So am I nuts??? Or do I just suck at this game???
Crazy_dog no.3
I am a believer in doing whatever it takes to make your gaming fun, even if it is cheating. So try these... SIMONSAYS (A nearly invinsible Ewok with blasters) SCARYNEIGHBOR (Mr Gaber in an armed boat) FORCEFOOD FORCEORE FORCENOVA FORCECARBON
Sir Elgnid
Ack, ugh, ptooey! I can't bring myself to cheat. Thanks anyway. I guess I'll just have to practice some more. Perhaps I should rephrase my question. How long did it take you guys to finish the Rebel Alliance campaign scenario #1 without cheating???? Link Antilles
Let's see.... The first Rebel mission took me 1 hr. and 40 mins. I replayed the Trade Federation campaign a few days ago and the 3rd TF mission took me 2 hours and 45 mins. The fastest way for me to beat the mission is to build a base north of Spinnaker containing a fortress, power core, shield Gen. and a Hvy Weapons Factory. Attack the Base with Droidekas, pummels, and Bounty Hunters. BTW, I've never once used a cheat in GB!
Sir Elgnid
Well thanks for the confirmation, Link! My times are roughly 1 hour behind yours. I know I'm not great at playing this game, but I try to console myself by reminding myself that I never played AOK! (Yep, I'm a dinosaur!) And for you that are staring at your screen in disbelief, the reasons were I just upgraded from my 8 yr. old 486/66 DX2 just 5 months ago. I HAVE purchased AOE2 Gold Edition for $30 and have just scratched the surface on that title. AOKTC and SWGB may be 2D, but the gameplay in these titles seems better than most of the newer releases. Anyway, thanks Link!
